The Oakland Education Center opened it’s doors January of 2017 to serve the needs of students from both the Austin Public School District and the Albert Lea Independent school district as a collaborative effort. The goal of the Austin Albert Lea Special Education Cooperative (AALASEC) is to provide specially designed instruction and related services to qualifying students, so that they may access and benefit from their program of education.
